PLOT: A dysfunctional family struggles to maintain “tradition,” while finding balance as they learn more about each other during the Christmas holiday.
LOCATION: Hyde Park

ROLES:
ALEX TANNER: MALE, African American, 24yrs.
Outgoing, social- maybe a bit too social, carefree, charming, slightly spoiled, selfish and borderline mamas boy. He never thinks too far ahead. He always finds a way to get out of any situation. Has a very distinct way of making a girl feel comfortable without being obviously misleading.
ZOE SOSA: FEMALE, African American, early 30s.
Bohemian, as carefree as they get, energetic, self-absorbed, lonely, loner. She can grab the attention of any man, but never can really hold it for long. She’s searching for something, but is unaware what that is right now. She lies about her age- and probably always will.
ROBERT TANNER, MALE, African American, 50s-maybe 60s.
Arrogant, selfish, independent, incapable of commitment but never quite single.
A successful playwright who is suffering from writers block. Has high expectations, probably too high, for his disappointing children.
MICHELLE TANNER, FEMALE, African American, 50s
An aged actress, smart, cautious, controlling, slightly wounded but strong, retired and feeling it. She’s trying to fill her time. Her children are grown, but not quite adults. She has the lingering aftertaste of a bad marriage.
GRANT, MALE, Caucasian, early 30s
When one sees him you may think he’s a hipster, maybe a little bohemian, honestly people don’t know what to make of him. But what you do know is that he marches to the beat of his own drum. He does what he wants, when he wants.
ADAM, MALE, Caucasian, 40s
Married, a father of two, enjoys causal affairs, manipulative, privileged. Longs for adventure, but takes more of a “practical” road in life, always blaming it on his “responsibilities.”
